pro comp lift
I was looking around at 6" lift kits and whats out there. I came across the new 6" procomp. It comes with a adjustable track bar, sounds pretty good. Does any 1 have any experience with this lift like quality, vibrations ect. or any other recomendations as far as 6" lifts go. I have looked at trailmaster, superlift, top gun customs, skyjacker, rough country, fabtech. Im not going to be doing any serious off roading really manly daily driver on the road and dirt roads like on and off the custruction site.

I had a 5" Pro Comp lift before my current set up and it was good for what it is. Truck was better then stock on and off road and I didn't have any issues with it. If all you want is the looks with the ability to do a little more off road it'll work fine for you.

yeah mainly looks but it will go off road maybe 5 times if im lucky nothing wicked serious mainly mudding and some 4wheel low stuff and it gets hooked to a weight transfer sled twice a year. so is the pro comp just as good as the others?

I have the 6" ProComp on my 2500 with the upgraded Fox shocks, and it rides very well. I have no complaints.
I should also add this is my first lifted truck, so I don't have much to compare it to. I can compare it to stock, and it does ride much nicer.

Short arm. This was the first day I had it back. In the picture below it has the 3" block in the rear. I added an additional 1" block to the rear to make it level. It only comes with a 3" block. It's a really nice setup/ride

The long arm kit will ride even better. Long arm kits are definitely the way to go. I was thinking about picking the lift up myself. I have a 6" short arm kit right now.
I think I might just get the long arm kit from pure performance.....
or maybe I should just go crazy and get the desert race coilover kit from them....

the nice thing about the new procomp lang arm kit you dont have to cut off your stock lower control arm bracket there is a drom bracket that mounts into it for your upper arm and them the lower arm mounts farther back on the frame http://www.explorerprocomp.com/flyer...spension_07-08 looks like a very nice set up but the problem i have found is that i cant get any feed back about people that have used it. i talk to top gun customz about it and jody said that they have in stalled only 5 of them and havent had 1 come back so he would asume it was solid. o yeah and the 07-08 is hog wash pro comp does that so people with thos trucks will think that its like the only lift built and avalible for there year or at least thats the way top gun customs explained it but on there info its for 03-08 sense they never changed any of them

thats y i like it so being a dually if say 4-5 years down the road i decide to make it my work truck and put a body on it i can down size the lift and re mount the control arms in the same spot be cause who wants a utility truck with a that much lift. O and the other thing was, he said that i could prolly put a 2" spacer on top of it with no problem and still have a good ride. i would just like some feed back on it and see what people think like ride quality and the quality of the parts. pro comp a few years ago was making them out of real thin steal so they wernt very dura able but TGC said its good but who knows.

I had a 4" Pro Comp suspension lift with 35"s on my 04 reg cab 3500 and loved it. I know its not as tall as you are wanting to go, but for a lifted truck, mine drove and rode better than it did when i had the stock stuff on. I'm actually in the process of looking for another 3rd gen 3500 4x4 to lift and play with

when you added the 6 inch lift did you have to drop the transferr case with a bracket? i was told the transferr case should be dropped over 4 inchs of lift. i have a 4 1/2 inch fab tech on mine and has a churning sound when i go over bumps like it is binding, i ordered the drop bracket 2 months ago but still waiting for it, soon im going to just try an get the part number and order it my self, but it does ride better than stock for sure

you need an indexing ring for the transfere case if its a standard. it turns the Tcase about 30* down so there is less of an angle on the front drive shaft thats where the vibration comes from. Some people say they dont have problems and some do i would put it in and see if it helps. i wanna say the part from super lift is like $200 and it will take a good tranny shop about an hour to put it in.
