Pressure Boxes with modded cp3
Just wondering what everyone though about running pressure boxes with modded cp3's. i know there is a level that you dont want to reach because you will be tearing up injectors. i currently have a ts mp-8 and edge ez. what is considered a safe level not to exceed. i am leary of the mp-8 because the pressure ramps up so fast, but like it because of the adjustability. The EZ is 3 settings and no OFF. On level one of the EZ pressure wont go above 25K according to my rail gauge. is this too much? i wont even try the other levels.

Winner winner chicken dinner!
Maybe for the track, or dyno. But I personally dont run a pressure box, with a modded cp3 you can get some pretty quick spikes. Although some seem to use one and pay close attention to their Rail pressure, me Id rather not worry about the extra horsepower for daily driving vrs the damage it can do. Just my opinion.

well just curious, after doing some reading ive seen that 25k isnt a desirable number to have. many are saying 21k is about where it should be, and since i can achieve that with my pump with out pressure box and run my current mods (SMARTY, TST) then maybe pressure isnt needed. just looking for input. maybe DonM will chime in.

FWIW, I can go past 25k with no added pressure on a stock pump. I dont think 25 is bad, I would try and keep it no higher than that for daily driving but maybe excede that for competition. I have pegged my rail guage on more than one occasion. But I dont recomend that.
I think in general, pressure boxes should be avoided with a modded pump in MOST cases. I am sure there are some exceptions though.

D Wiggs didn't purposely have it on 100% - so the story goes.
Anyway, I have my mp-8 on about 60% which puts me at about 25-26k. I have a "new" stage 1 pump from Floor-It. John is doing some really cool stuff that I won't talk about on here, but we are expecting my stage 1 to support over 600hp with ease. The deal with the modded cp-3 is that instead of a spike to 25k from 18k and then falling back to 17-18k, the rail pressure stays between 20-25k the WHOLE time in in the throttle hard. I don't get any spikes at all. The pressure climbs fast and steady and then holds.
This is all on stock injectors - for another week
