power steering must be on its way out???

I have had my 94 CTD since November of 2005. Has had a leak in the PS since day one. Now the steering is starting to feel like I have it in 4 wheel drive when turning sharp left or right. The steering box leaks at the bottom. So who makes a good after market steering box? What is the cost? And any tricks to the removal and install?? Thanks....

Dave

It might just the PS pump getting weak. Check that before putting a box on.

I'm running a PSC power steering box and I like it. Nice and stiff just like the factory. I don't remember the cost on it. Very easy to remove. Just unbolt it. The hardest part is getting the lines put back on because there's really no easy way to get to them.

Im curious what you guys that have installed the PSC gearbox and their sector shaft brace thought of the improvements, as well as how easy / difficult the install was.
Im probably due for a trackbar soon, maybe thuren or lukes link. Steering wheel doesnt point straight either.

I love my PSC box, I just need a higher pressure pump to make steering a little easier. Not to mention a nice hydro assist kit with my large tires. I would definately get the DSS steering brace as that will make the box and sector shaft live much longer. PSC's customer service is great as well, they recently warrantied my 2 year old box that developed a cracked housing and sent me a brand new one. My new box has an updated housing with a rib cast into the housing to prevent the crack from coming back.
Adjust your drag link to get your steering wheel straight, takes 5 minutes. Just loosen the bolts on the link and turn it right or left with someone in the cab telling you when it is straight.
The Thuren bar is nice for stock trucks with minimal lift but I would get the DT track bar if you have anything over 4" of lift. I welded my DT bracket to the frame and it as been running strong for over 5 years.

I put Lukes links on all my ends and track bar. Went on pretty easy and work great hard to beat for the money.

I did them both and the improvement is nice. I put the brace on the stock box first to see the difference and it made it very nice. No more wandering. Then I put the PSC box on and it made everything nice. It's nice and firm like it was from the factory and the truck tracks straight and smooth. I love it.
