Power Seat motor

I'm looking to find a place to buy a Seat motor ( Other then dealer I here they are really expensive ) for a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 6 way seat. I did a search on this forum and saw a few suggestions from last year, but didn't have any luck with those links. I also checked my area junk yards with no luck. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck purchasing one since then or knows of any new sites.

Try an electric motor shop, they might be able to match it up

I would think a motor should would be able to repair yours for probably cheaper than buying a new one.

One function of my driver's seat is not working for some reason - the seat bottom up and down function. All of the rest of them work... go figure?

I have got the seat bottoms off of a 97 with the motors on it I needed the tracks but not the motor I think they are the same as yours I gave around a hundred for the two bottoms and center console just for the tracks (mine had a stripped gear) I'll make you a heck of a deal on just the motor pm me if you are interested.

Of the 3 motors in the seat bottom, one controlling front/rear movement, one controlling forward seat lift/lower, and one controlling rear seat lift/lower I had two bad ones. The 2 that had to do with lift/lower. I called the dealership and they do not sell these separate. You have to get the whole bottom seat frame assembly for $600.00. Not an option. I removed the motors and took them to an electrical shop and they completely rebuilt them for $50.00 and gave me a 6 month warranty. That had been a year ago and they are still working like champs.

What does an electrical shop actually do when they "rebuild a motor"?
