Powder coating exhaust?
I am currently running a MBRP dual exhaust system. From the winters around here my exhaust is starting to pit and rust. Would I be able to powdercoat my exhaust black? Does anyone have it done? I would really like to see what/how it would look. Thanks in advance.

powdercoating is only good for about 400 degrees before it melts off. Even the high temp powdercoating is not much higher than that. Ceramic coating is the way to go but not cheap. I was quoted $25 a foot to do my stacks and bedkit. went to the auto shop and bought some BBQ paint

problem is that it is under the truck so it will get pitted and hammered just like it was before it was painted. ceramic coating will get the same way.

That sounds like a lot of steps. But you'll get a good looking finish that will be pretty durable and not very expensive.

That's what I did, can get either a mat black, or gloss. Careful if it's going on anything chrome, need to steel wool that pretty good if so. It will look so sharp when done!

My brother had a 5" MBRP system on his 2007 F-250 that was powder coated black. It never had a problem with the powder coating coming off or melting or anything to make it look bad. It was done by a good reputable place that does quality work. So if it was something I was after I wouldn't hesitate to do it myself. The truck was in Texas so it didn't see nasty roads like up north in the winter.
