1100-1150 is the max I've let it get. I don't think I'll ever let it get above that either.

Post turbo
id say about 900 on the pyro, add about 400 for pre turbo (not sure on how correct that is) and id say 1300..

1300° is usually the time I get out of it.. Without the SAII... Add 150°F for sure.

1250* at 117mph sustained.

I've hit 1400* a couple of times for a brief couple seconds at the drag strip. Other than that I never see it go above 1100*

I've had very, very brief spurts (maybe 5 seconds) up to 1800*. I think I've only done that twice.
I regualry let off of it at 1300* although I have pushed 1400* for about 30 seconds more than a few times while smoking an uneducated ricer! [laugh]

I can get mine to 1500 in a hurry. I never hold it there more than 2 seconds at a time. I sure hope a 4" will help at least take it a little longer to get to 1500.
most i see is 1100 wot but i am mostly stock. For now [whistle] [coffee]
How hot can i run at sustained (pre-turbo)

i have pegged a 1500 gauge so many times i can't even take a guess. when i finally popped my head gasket i was scared to see what the pistons looked like. guess what, they looked like new. and this truck sled pulls, dragraces and has had many a highway runs over 130. these things are tough.

I hope I have the same luck [coffee]
I once saw 1550.
Clutch won't hold hard enough to let the engine even get dangerous. I have the fuel for danger, though:)
With a clutch, I'd expect to be able to hit nearly 1600 with M4s and smarty on a poor stock turbo.

Mine will peg the 1600 degree pyro in 4th or 5th on straight #2. I see I'm not alone with this problem. :)
I agree with Gunracer1!
When truck was new, I spent 18 months being uncomfortable over 1250*. Finally realized it not "how Hot".... it "How Long when Hot".
I have seen trucks that burned pistons towing in the mountains... holding 1250* for 10-15 min.
In 1/4 miles runs, with previous (smaller) turbo, I would have 5-7 sec with gauge pegged (1550*+). Had to be well above 1550* with No Neg. side effects! I firmly believe anything up to 1600-1700 degrees for no more than 8-10 sec will not hurt anything!
For my present setup... 8 sec pegged on the pyro would peg my speedo also :)

Mine will peg 1500* gauge in 4th and will hit hard in 5th. I only hold it there for a couple seconds

I could peg my 1600* guage in about 3-5 seconds of full throttle from a stand still(with stock motor and charger).

Well, seeing all you guys with these high EGT's, maybe I shouldnt be so concerned. I can easily see 1300-1400 with the comp on 5/5. What can I do to cool it down when I start adding more goodies?

The 93 has seen 1400 numerous times on the dyno, too chicken to do it while pulling a trailer.
The stock 2000 won't go above 1000 preturbo with smarty on #9.

I could peg my 1500* gauge by 70mph before I got the timing advanced. Now it goes to 1300*, and slows down a lot, and will creep up to 1400* if you stay into it long enough. In valet mode; 1100* is about as hot as I can get it even with a trailer, unless I lug it quite a bit. 1150* is the most I like to SUSTAIN while hauling. Some say 1300* all day, but I dont have the guts for that. Id rather be safe than sorry. Sure; if im messing around, i dont care to get it to 1400*(at least twice a week probably), I just dont like to sustain it.

#10 fuel plate is only 1/2 forward, gsk and lenny's stage 4 injectors make for a real clean towing setup. minimal smoke light to moderate haze, black smoke only right off the line. once thetwins catch up shes fine. HX35/12cm WG hybrid and S400 spools like a stock hx 35/14cm wg.
1200 egts donner pass with a 12k lbs trailer and my foot burried in it 45mph at the bottom and still building steam a the top when we crested at 80mph mind you if it didnt have any corners i could have probably been even more reckless but as it was at 3 am nobody was on the road but me and the CHP who clocked me at the top and wanted to know what was going through my mind.
I told him diesel fumes. he laughed said he was impressed and told me to watch it, speeding is not something he likes to let people go for but for some reason at 3 am he seemed to find it in himself to be generous. i still have the warning citation though. he poped me for a taillight instead.

I've had it up to the peg at 1600. I wonder if that turbo was glowing red? was there for about 2 seconds.
