Possible MAF or VP-44 Failing?

I've had no codes pop up. I noticed that when I get on the gas my miles per gallon go down to 4 mpg on the digital console display. When I get off the gas after like 10 seconds, it will go back to 99mpg until I get back on the gas again. Could this be a failing MAF Sensor or VP-44? I just put in a New Fass 150-95 lift pump system.

i think you're looking at the instantaneous MPG... what you are describing is normal (assuming you are getting on the "accelerator"... gas & diesel don't mix)

Our trucks dont use a Mass Air Flow meter we have a speed density system. but to increase fuel econ. clean your MAP sensor regularly
