After searching the forums, the most recent posts I could find on brake pads are over 4 years old. Most likely operator error on my part for not finding anything newer.

I'd like to get thoughts on replacement pads, specifically Porterfield R4-S versions.

Any information appreciated!

Im still on my originals at 123K miles and they are still going fine for now. I just bought a set of new OEM pads...waiting for time to get around to switching them out. I think the OEMs are fine.

Replaced my OEM fronts at about 100,000 or so. Still on OEM rears at 124,500. It seems to be one of the few good OEM parts.

Fronts are going on mine with less than 35k, albeit for most of that I have run an aftermarket tranny with a tight torque converter, etc. I will look into the OEM version.

OEM's are good except for the dust. I got about 115k on my fronts and have 150k on the rear and still have a lot left on them. Look into the Dodge premium pads too.

I replaced my OEM fronts with EBC green stuff pads. They stop better, have a whole lot less dust, but are wearing faster. I may only get about 75k out of them.

Wow, I can't get 30k out of the fronts and the backs maybe 20k. I guess towing on the mountains too much. Before the exhaust brake it was even worse.

I have no experience with those pads on a Dodge, but the Toyota Tundras really benefit from them.

HUGE increase in braking performance, but wear is much faster. I have a client of mine who has had me install 6 sets...front and rear on two different Tundras.

Tried Performance Friction and Hawk. We always come back to the Porterfields.

400K miles of driving with Porterfields and he keeps coming back for more.

I managed to squeeze over 200k out of both front and rear OEMs before having to change them out.....but I also pulled a 53' car hauler with 6 brakes of it's own 6 days a week . I went with some sorry Advance Auto brand pads and they aren't as good as what i pulled off it in my opinion...wayyy more dust than the factory pads. I now have 267k on the ol' gal and am noticing that the rotors will have to be turned so when the time comes for me to pull them off I'll be going back with OEM's or a reputable aftermarket pad such as the Hawk or the Porterfields. Both are very good from what I've read about them.

Having priced this out, the Porterfields are going to run $180 for a full set off of their website. Geno's carries the Mopar Value line that they like for $111.

Pretty much looking like OEM get's the head nod based upon info in this thread and the wallet, huh?!

I don't think the Mopar value line are the OEM ones. Get the premium Mopar to be sure they are OEM.

I replaced mine at 95,000 with another set of the premium Mopar ones and now at 180,000 they are at about 10%. I did not turn the rotors when I replaced them. Now the rotors mike out at below specs for turning so I'm considering which ones to go with. But the OEMs are great.

Best brakes I've ever had on any vehicle.

If you don't need the extra braking performance the Porterfields will give you, I'd head to Kragen/O'Reillys and get the Wagner ThermoQuiet pads. They are OE specific pads and run quiet with minimal dust.

$130 front and rear.

I'm doing the Porterfields when it's time, but I only drive my truck 9-11K a year and it is loaded heavy when it goes out.

I think you have to go to the dealer. And prices vary a different dealers. Now two of the dealers I used to go to are closed.

You can get the OEM's online. But I went to my local dealer and talked them into price matching.

I paid $173.75 + tax for mine.....$188.08 out the door. Basically it was employee pricing.....the parts manager told me.
