popping..

Yet another problem with my truck, imagine that! Well it's been going on for almost 3 weeks and now I think it's getting worse. It does it mostly while excellerating some what hard to WOT. If I pull out regularly it doesn't do it. Also it did it yesterday while braking to park in the parking lot and I noticed while I'm hitting the go pedal it jolts the truck some what when it pops. Any ideas? I just had my drivers side ball joints replaced less than 12k ago. I have to take the truck to get the tires rotated and balanced this afternoon, so I'm gonna get them to check the BJ's.

ANY help is appreciated!

Just a shot in the dark but check your lower shock mounts. My truck was popping at different times for what seemed like no reason. The bolts were tight but the rubbers were not touching the sides. I put in some shims and solved that problem

I would guess balljoints. It could be the unweighting of the front end when accelerating that's causing the pops.

Is it something you feel in the steering wheel or something you hear?

Is the noise comming from the front end? Have you checked the u joints in the drive shaft? Mine made all kinds of noises when my rear u joint went bad.

Well it was doing it today just crusing down the interstate at about 68 or so mph. I can't feel it in the steering wheel just in the floor board and I hear it.

Should my transfer case sound like this? Sounds like a gear is loose or has some play.

Front driveshaft, the truck is in park and in 2wd.

Check your control arm bushings and bolts. Also check your trackbar bolts as well.

If you have a Thuren track bar it could possibly be the bolt on the passenger side is loose.

Well the truck is with Jeff Garmon yet again. Don't get me wrong I like Jeff, but I'd rather send him my truck to get BOMBd than to get fixed. I told him on the phone what was up and he said it is more than likely my shift fork in my Xfer case. I'll find out for sure in the next day or so. Also he is gonna check out my hard start. I belive my Holley blue pump is about to be replaced.
