installed bosch stage 2 injectors. they are equal to the marine 370s, and i noticed that the truck is popping very loudly now. It only popps when driving at cruising speed about 1800 rpms. Almost sounds like a misfire, but doesnt feel like one... also the idle has dropped a bit....

Some of the smaller pumps ( 160's and 180's) didn't take to the larger injectors very well. They need a set of DV's to flow enough fuel to make the larger injectors work right.

I hope this is not the case I'm about to install the same injecters as he did on a truck with a 160 pump, is it ok to run the truck like this? Do you think I should just wait until I get a set of delivery valves to do this mod? Dam I was looking forward to this tomorow!!

also the stock turbo is being overworked now!!!!

i would wait and get a set of delivery valves first.Because the truck is almost really miss firing because it is not getting enough fuel to pop off or flow to the knew injectors. And that is hard on rings and pistons because the fuel works like a lubricant and helps lubricat the rings hope this helps a little

try cracking injection lines, i have seen a few trucks do this and it was solved by advancing the timing and fixing one or more plugged injectors.

your problem is the thickness off the washers that they give you with them injectors your need to go buy a set of .020 washers another problem is to much timing you dont want to run more than 16 degrees of timing (your spraying out of the bowl)

Hey Ramdriver I believe that Bracker is correct I installed mine in my 95 with a 160 pump and two .020 washers per injecter at 16* timing and this thing Flat out Ripps! Great Mod for the dough,these things don't even smoke I had hard time seeing much at all. I would highly recamend them to the people that can't afford the DD's and better injecters. Next up Delivery valves and a Turbo,anyone have anyone have anything decent for my pump??

schoust, my injectors came with one set ofd washers that weere thinner than factory... These injetors in fact do make it possible to ____ and git... but that popping sopund comes in when more fuel is needed. im planning on testing it and then if i have good pressure i will be ordering DVs. My dad is trying to hook me up with a freebee turbo from his truckning compay.
I told him to look for an s300, s400, or an HX 40but i think i still would rather the hybrid for the ease of installation.
i know the s400 would be extremely laggy, but thats why i could make homemade twiins!!! mmmm i love twins...

The injectors come with the wrong washers they are to thick they are made for a marine motor those injectors have a 155 spray pattern you are running to much timing and spraying on top of the bowl just spend 10 dollars go buy the right washers and time the truck down Ill just about gaurntee that will fix it if not you should check out your overflow valve you might need to stretch the spring in it or just get a new won dv's wont do a thing or if you want buy your dvs and when you get them put in youll see you still have the same problem(YOURE SPRAYING OUT OF THE BOWL)

were do i ge a set of washers from, and what thickness, should they be? I can pull an injector and micromemter the washer on monday to let you know the precise size, and also i can retime the truck down to 16 degrees. Timing my truck is just such a pain in the.. well you know... you need tow people and some pacience, which my only helper, does not have!!! hahahah lmao...

Go straight to cummins or a frieghtliner dealership tell them you nedd some twenty thousands injector washers they will want your engine number

If you bent the injector lines out of the way to install the new injectors instead of removing the lines completely you very well could have kinked the passageway restricting flow to one or more of the injectors.
I've run into this several times, only cure I know of is to replace the lines.
