Pop goes the intercooler

So I blew the left side off my plastic i/c. Would most say put a stock metal one on for $300 or so or an aftermarket for $1200. A new turbo is in my near future as well, but not 600hp probably ever. Just want to do the right thing once. Thanks.

Dodge should warranty it, yeah?

Not an uncommon mishap.

I think when you add stuff to truck they frown upon replacing parts under warantee.

I believe the factory replacement is all metal. Unless you are gonna mod heavily then a factory i/c is all you need.

Yeah, if you have any programmers/downloaders on the truck they arent going to warrantee it, since you are running more boost that stock.
Even if you had a stock truck, theyd try to find a way to weasel out of it...
Well, at least thats the case with dealerships in my area.

the same thing happened to me on my 05 last year. my dealer knows i run a programmer, but they know me pretty well and they know i don't run the large HP programs (extreme on the predator). i run tow and performance with a boost fooler which makes around 42 lbs of boost. the stock metal cooler i was told will handle around 60 lbs, so if you think you'll be staying under 60 you should be good. just watch the head gasket if you get up around 50.

There was a short period of time 04.5-early 05's that came with plastic.

Well I took the icooler out. The plastic cap on the left side was separating from the rest of the unit. I took the plastic cap completely off, put E6000 all over both sides of the gasket and put it back together with hose clamps reinforcing the metal tabs. Will see what happens.
