polishing a stack

polishing a stack

hey guys
i found a 5" x 2.5' stack that my buddy had laying in the back of his truck. i was wondering how to get all the little scratches out from it rollin around in his bed. whats the best way to do this?

Even though you can't get rid of the scratches, you may be able to "hide" them. It's at least worth a shot to try Mothers Metal Polish. I just used it on a stainless steel exhaust tip that had scratches and it did a pretty good job. You have to get close to the tip to see the scratches now. Because your is chrome, it may not work at all, but, it's worth a shot. Besides, what have you got to loose, their already scratched. After that, I think the only other option is to have them re-chromed. I don't know what something like that would cost.

alot of people told me polish and fine steel wool would work? im using it for a tip not a stack so i really dont want it black, if it was going up instead of out i would though!!
