Po237 And No Power

Po237 And No Power
I bought a 2002 Dodge quad cab 4x4 with 24V cummins which has been rolled over. The motor runs excellent both at idle and while driving.........it starts easily every time and runs smooth throughout the rpm range.
It has an FASS electric pump and filters mounted to the frame rail. I checked the post filter pressure and got 20 psi with the truck running in the driveway.
It also has an autometer boost gauge and pyro on the a-pillar. Revving up in the driveway the boost gauge will get up to 11psi measured on the air horn above the map sensor.
The pyro gets up to about 500 while driving around.
The problem is that the truck has absolutely no power.......I mean it is gutless and I didn't even think it was going to make it up a moderate grade hill the first time I drove it.........I don't think I can stress enough how gutless this thing is.
I have checked everything I can think of to check and can not come up with any answers. The exhaust is 4" front to back with no muffler and no obstructions. The only code is PO237 - low map sensor reading. There is no detectable boost leaks through the piping or intercooler.
Is it possible the map sensor can be wreaking this kind of havoc?
Should I be looking at the VP44?.......from what I've read on these forums and from what I've been told, the symptoms of IP failure are different than what I am experiencing.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Well, this is just my own thoughts on it, but if you happen to have your MAP unplugged, you'll have absolutely no power at all. I know, i've done it. It gave me the same exact code when i ran the test. Check and see if the MAP is plugged in, if not, it may be a bad sensor. Correct me if i'm wrong guys, but with the MAP unplugged, your ecu is reading at zero boost and just won't fuel or advance the timing correctly. Nevertheless, if the MAP is bad, you won't have any get-up and go!

Thanks for the reply Starkey.
You were absolutely right.........it was the map.
The problem was that the previous owner had some aftermarket controller hooked up through the map......he removed it before selling the truck. I found a bunch of suspicious looking wires under the dash and traced them back to the map sensor and about three other spots and removed them all.
Sure enough she responded by running perfectly.....what a relief.
