1998 12 valve

I am going to possibly buy a 12 vavle 1998 auto tonight with 62k miles, is there anything last minute that I should check on it before bighting the bullet. The truck is strong and clean, no leaks underneath and the frame and underside looked clean. Any and all help appreciated.

if theres no leaks then the kdp has not struck but i would get it done as soon as i got the truck. check the front suspension, make sure the trans shifts nice and tight. but other than the kdp a 12v is basically bullitproof

Id jump on it...

Kill that KDP asap... Easy procedure i might add, Welcome to DTR! Trackbar will be an issue (possibly) but its easy to fix. If it is stock its in very forgiving form as well which is why it is literally bullet proof..

Best of luck and go get it!!

Mileage seems way low for a 12V, any ideas as to its origins or who owned it? its previous uses and so forth will help sway ur decision.. if all is well jump

When the guy bought it he used it just as a daily driver and to haul some smaller farm impliments, doing that he put about 45K miles on it. For the last 4 years he has been stationed at an airforce base near me and has been driving the 14 or so miles to work when he needs it, the only somewhat heavy hauling that he has done was when he picked up a 2005 duramax and towed it back here, other than that it seems like it has had a pretty easy life and very well taken care of. The only problem is that someone spoke for it before I came around so I have to wait till Tuesday night before I can jump on it. One last question about the 53 block, just in case it does have it, will this be a minor issue with a 12 valve, I probly wont pump much power out of this truck (I don't see modifying it to produce more than 250HP and probly will just keep it stock if I get it). Either way I hope that I get to jump on this deal or else I might just have to break down and get a 24 valve (or that 98 quad cab 4x4 5 spd that I know of for sale...)
