On the larboard side of the engine, down low, immediately behind the power-steering reservoir, about three-inches forward of the injection-pump bracket, is a hex-headed plug.

What is this hole and could it be used to some benefit ??

I think what you're talking about is for the vacuum pump oil supply for the latter style vacuum pumps. Check your wife's 91.5 and you'll see what I mean.

If that be the case, then oil-pressure could also be tapped from there, possibly for one of those toilet-paper filters, or other purposes, right ??

Right. On engines with air compressors that's where they get the compressor oil supply. Not that that's important information, but it makes this post more than 9 characters...

 

were would you put aircomperssor on a 5.9, with the ip in the way and psp in the way doesnt leave very many options

 

The compressor/ps pump combo goes where the vac/ps pump is now.

 

Belt driven with a bracket that bolts to those 3 bolt holes at the driverside front cylinder head.

 

So I could use a hydroboost and get rid of the vacuum pump. (use an electric for the HVAC controls) Then throw a compressor/ps pump combo in there for onboard air?

 

Yeah, if you can find a setup that clears the frame rail.

 

that is right where i hooked mine up to but i think there is two plugs on that side mine is on the one back towards the firewall more
