Please help me identify some stuff

My truck is a 98 12v, 4X4, w/ auto. Other than that I really don't know what I have. Like what trans ,transfer case, turbo, fuel pump, rears and so one. When I look into buying stuff I feel dumb because i don't know what I have . Any help would be a big help. Thanks Ken

Alright then. I guess I got lucky with this find. Didn't even have to search for it. The funny thing is that I got everything I wanted at a price I could afford expect 4 doors but with a 2 year old how big of a back seat do you need....

Yep. And the auto is a Dana 70 rear end.

The axle ratios will be listed on the sticker on the underside of the hood.

My 98 12v 4x4 auto stock had
47re trans
Trans case ?
HX35 turbo
P7100 180hp pump
Dana 60 front Dana 70 rear
I believe all autos got the same and all standards got the bigger 215 pump and Dana 80s in the rear.

Ratsun is right.

I wanna say that all the Cummins came with the NP241HD... If not it is a NP241. Usually with NP the HD gets you a wider chain.

Get your VIN# and call the dealer. They can use it to get your "build sheet". That sheet will tell you just about everything but the air pressure in you spare tire. There can be some inaccurate info on it though. I have seen the sheet say the rear diff was a LS when it was a open. Check the tag on the housing for that, it will be accurate.

My truck only has the NV241DLD, not the HD version. That's the one thing that bums me out about my truck. If it's only the chain, then I guess that's OK, because I'm tougher on the throttle when in 2WD then when I'm in 4WD and off-road.

Copy those #'s and call a good driveline shop, they can tell you everything, or should be able to. The 3:54 is the easy part, the other numbers will tell you if it is a open or LS, as well as other stuff.
