Try the above address. I borrowed it from Chris' post. Go to the search funtion and type in complete 5 speed conversion notes. There is a ton of information you may find useful.

I had the same problem as you but after following the schematic that Chris posted, it remidied my problem.

I now have 17,000 miles on my conversion and I love every minute of it. Well almost every minute. There is a small issue with stop and go traffic.

I will do my best to explain. I can be long winded.

First make sure that you have removed the jumper in the harness near the floorboard to the left of the steering column. If I remember correctly, the connector is green and the wire in the jumper is yellow. Once removed, the clutch switch can be plugged into the harness.

You will need a Bosch 5 pin relay. The are usually all the same except for amperage. A low amperage relay will work fine. The relay should have a schematic printed on the side but ignore it for know. The pins should be numbered 30, 85, 86, 87A & 87. This relay will not be wired to match the schematic.

First, ground the # 30 & 86 pins. The clutch switch has a powered side and an open side. Find the open side and tap in a wire there and run it to pin 85 on the relay. There was/is a black w/white stripe wire that was running to the old park/neutral switch. It was in the three wire connector you removed from the transmission. Tap into that wire and run it to pin 87 on the relay. Pin 87A will not be used.

That should do it. Remember to also depress the clutch pedal to the floor before attempting to start engine.

I can be reached at tlc4dna@comcast.net
