Took a few pics today before I put the Old Hotrod away for the day. And right now I'm a little bored so I figured I'd post em up.

if it came down to it and you had to sell what would you expect the price tag to be on that big rig tater?

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the compliments. As far as putting a price tag on it, that would be impossible for me to do. I've owned the truck for nine years now and it has never been worked on by anyone else, for anything. So it is so much a part of me I could never begin to put a price on that. Besides that, my wife told me if I ever would get rid of it she'll divorce me because I would be impossible to live with! LOL
Thanks again,
Matt

Very clean! How do you keep the grille from cracking? And with those big tires do you see more rock chips? And the last question why did you delete the aluminum panel on the tailgate? Again, very clean!!!! Doesnt your dad have one to? NICE!

Yeah there are a few trucks that I have seen that I would call an "inspiration" but that one takes the cake! It doesn't get any better than that Tater! NICE TRUCK!

We put rubber spacers under the top edge of the grille towards the center so it doesn't put as much stress in the plastic when its drawed down. As far as chips, the Putco flaps seem to help quite a bit. As far as the Aluminum panel I didn't delete that, a 25' Wellcraft did . I have another panel and an original tailgate, but I'm not sure if that's what I'm doing or if I'm going to plate the tailgate and do a handle delete.

Sorry Dave. Yes you actually helped me out on a couple different occasions with the old hotrod. That tells you how much trust I have in you. There's a lot of us in the 1St Gen world that owe you a lot of thanks!

Very beautiful truck man! Nothing like a clean 1st gen. What kind of air horn is that on there? Looks like a banks maybe???? How well does it fit under there? I really would like to get an aftermarket one but read they don't fit under the hood.

Like he said, put spacers under the bolts so it can sit in its natural position. I found with mine the outside screws are fine but all the inner ones needed to be spaced up. This keeps the stress off of it. Just for a little insurance when I bought my new factory one, I fiberglassed the crap out of the backside to reinforce it. This will help with people leaning over it while working on it. Hopefully this one lasts a while.

Ive got one heck of a slick 1st gen, and every time I see your rig I go green with envy. It requires no praise, it simply demands it.
