Hey All My door crack has gotten too bad. I'm repairing the hinge sag and want to repair this crack! Does anyone have any pics of the repair?

Here is a thread that may help. Replace the hinge pin to cure the door sag. That is how I repaired mine. I did it before I ruined the door latch.

Yea I'll take a pic sometime soon. Right now I'm not opening up the door so it doesn't push the latch in like it did this morning. I was able to straighten it out and from the outside I can line it up and push it more straight on. and as of now the cracks aren't connected and probably easier to repair before they get worse. So I'm going to be using the passenger door and order the parts to repair the hinge. Till then I will try not to open it.

Here is the door crack...sorry its poor quality I thought I could txt it to myself so I took it with my phone small enough to send it.

ANyway the cracks aren't joining yet so its still in place...but its pushed forward so the latch doesn't line up with the body's part.

Anyone near West TN that would like to weld on this?

JT, I had the same problem
My cracks looked just like yours... not too bad, but getting worse everyday.
I got away with pulling out the bolts and sticking in some big washers.

The door still shuts fine too, you might be able to use some washers for a temp fix... I'm leaving mine in for good. [lazy]

Yea good idea...I may have to give that a go just so I can use the door.

you can go to pick a part,get bolts out of a caravan door,they have large heads on them.

First thing you have to do is stop drill those cracks. Drill a small hole at the end of the crack so it does not continue to crack. Not sure how much room you have to work with in there. You may be able to remove the door panel to access the latch. Remove the bolts. Use pliers to shape the metal together then braze it shut. Grind smooth, paint and maybe reinforce with thin washer or thin material then bolt it back together'

Or reinforce as part of the brazing. It would depend on how much room is available.

Not sure if this is a doable repair but just a thought. The stop drill is a must do.

When my 94 did that I took the latch loose and drilled a couple small holes at the ends of the cracks to stop the spread then put it back together using fender washers. That worked great till I got rid of that old beast.
