Phantom Engine Codes????

So I was driving home the other day and my truck threw a P0336 and P0236 code. So I stopped by my buddies shop to have him scan it and when he went to scan the check engine light went off. So today I was driving and the check engine light came back on and then it turned off again after I restarted my truck. I'm not sure whats going on but is it possible that my edge ez could be going bad and creating a problem?

Either MAP or Crank sensor possible wiring issue. First off make sure the MAP sensor is locked into the connector. Check wiring by oil filter make sure no wires are damaged or chaffing. Could have a intermittent crank signal, measure the resistance on crankshaft sensor. Is the resistance between 900 and 1100 ohms? Pin 1 and 3 on sensor if not replace sensor.

So I got to digging around today and there was a set of wires that were exposed due to rubbing on each other. One of the wires was the data link off the edge ez and I'm not sure what the other wire was. Does this sound like it could have been the source of my codes going on and off??

That is a direct connection to the computer so yes it could be an issue. Repair the wires and see if that solves the problem. Do not just tape them, seal them with shrink tubing if you have access to the tools to get the plug apart or liquid electrical tape if you do not have the tools. If you just put tape on the bare spot it will corrode under the tape and cause all kinds of problems.
