Question Performance Injector Question

Hello I have a question about injectors for my friend’s truck. He has a 2001 dodge diesel with the 235 hp engine. He also has the gale banks computer for 75hp and 140 foot pound of torque. He is looking to install a set of injector and wanted to know what people her would suggest. He is looking at the jammers stage3 100 hp and 200 foot pounds. He was looking at the tips only. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

If he has the money, I'd go with something from F1 (Mach injectors), DDP, or Industrial Injection in that power range. Talk to JLent, he has a set of I.I.'s Dragon Flys which they rate at 100hp, and he swears they are way underated. The jammer nozzles are ok if your on the cheap, but most say they don't make quite the power they are rated at, and they tend to run hotter and dirtier than a comparable injector from someone else. Also, at that power level, he might wanna make sure he has fuel press., boost, and egt gauges and might wanna take care of the factory lift pump. If he does go with the tips, I'd make sure to have the injectors pop tested so they all pop off at the same press. The springs wear out over time and don't all pop off at the same pressure.

What's he using the truck for? Anything from a 85hp to a 150hp injector could be useable based on his truck usage.

If he almost never tows (like I do), then I'd go bug with a 150hp range stick like a Mach 4 or DDP stick in that range.

For heavy towing, try something in the 85-100hp range.

Whole injectors are more expensive, but much simpler for install, and you're assured of the injector's best possible performance.

I saved for almost two years to get my Mach 4s and they are awesome. They work very well with a stock turbo and have zero EGT issues.

The problem comes in if your friend has an auto trans-- those trucks have a smaller turbo that can't handle much more fuel. I'd go no larger than a 100hp injector with this limitation.

Ditch that small stock turbo and a bigger injector is an option.

I have the Jammer Stg4's and would do it again for the money. I might be one of the lucky ones, because I did not pop test them and my truck seemed to run better and smoother over the stock injectors.

wurkenman i cant agree more! i just installed a set of stage 4 jammers and they are awsome. i can notice a huge differance and no differance in egts, but a noticable amount of smoke. for 240 buck you cant beat them!

I just drove a friends truck a few weeks ago with F1 Mach II's alone, (no chip) and I'd almost claim they are under-rated so I bought a set for myself and will install them this week...I have a set of Jammer II nozzles that have been pop tested and I really don't think they come near the advertised 75 HP...JMHO
