Performance diesel mechanic.

I really want to get into working on pickups for a performance diesel shop. I love working on my own trucks and am really not happy doing what i do now, so i figured i would try to turn my hobby into a living. Does anybody out there have any suggestions for as far as what i can do to help get me there or even a shop that would take me on as a shop hand for now and eventually work with me to get to the level of being able to be a full time mechanic? Any ifo would be greattly appreciated. Thanks, Corey.

I would really like to too. Have a shop full of gauges in stock, wrenching, exhausts, lifts, stacks.....ALOT of money. Where is waterloo? If it near chicago, you might have a chance depending on the market. If it is saturated, don't do it.

That is all that I can tell ya.

The only thing I could tell you is try get on with a performance diesel shop and shoot from there. I bet you won't make as much money as you'd like. Money isn't everything. If I was a single man and just had to take care of myself I would love to do it.

ChevyChe: I looked on the site you posted, and it looks like they have a few good things, but not a lot to offer. Some good places to buy from are:

www.scheiddiesel.com
www.piersdiesel.com
www.tstproducts.com
www.dieselmanor.com

and there are a lot more. Depenging on the year of truck you have also may have an impact on where ou can shop. Some places dont carry stuff for the 12 valve cummins because it is mechanical.
