Question The Perfect Combo For Power, Reliability And Longevity

Like the subject says, what are your opinions? I was thinking of BD Twins, 100 HP injectors, a better fuel delivery system, and maybe a light fueling box. (Not that I need twins for that set up, I just like the sound, looks, and bragging rights ) What do you guys and gals think of that combo? Whatever the mods, I would like to incorporate twins, just something I have always wanted...

BTW, BD claims that O-Ringing is not necessary with the twins, is this accurate?

I think for reliable power - I would do one of the two:

1) duration box with twins and a little pressure
2) Big ol' sticks (125hp+)- plus ALOT of pressure (quads 140hp pressure box)

I think either would do great, and make 500hp - But just dont try big sticks and duration, I hear it is not a the best combo

I totally agree with Tomeygun, not to sure about injectors though. A duration box with pressure is alot of fuel, ecspecialy with a good Pusher pump. A timing and duration box with pressure is really sweat

The BD twins are wastegated at 53psi so no you don't need O ring head as long as you are not using alot of timing such as timing box and propane. As for your fuel system BD also has the lift pump kit which will help your cp3 support up to 600hp. Are you going to stack pup with pressure box?

I also tried the 140 hp Quad box when I got my 100 hp Pressure box from them. I had my TST in route to get the updated reflash( mistake). Quad's had redesinged the 140 hp and I tried one out. Absolutly awsome. But It also did a little timing, which plugged into the cam and crank sensor, so I couldn't stack with my TST. I asked them about it and said it would probly be to much timing so I sent it back and got 100 hp pressure box. The 140 hp Quad box all by itself is pretty impressive though.

That's good. I don't think I will ever go with propane. Seemed like a good idea till I read some horror stories about too much timing. Actually I have a Ramifier sitting in the garage, the one I have up for sale, I had it stacked with the pup for a very short time. It turned out to be way too much for the stock clutch and fuel system. I'm thinking about sending it back to TS to see if they can make it adjustable so I can have a little pressure to play with. Right now I have the "tow" program loaded, really happy with it for every day driving, seems to help with throttle respose.

So I shouldn't go with injectors? I know nothing about 3rd gen injectors. I did have DD2's in the '01 I had and loved them. I was happy with just the injectors and airflow enhancements on the 2nd gen. I thought the 3rd gens may give me the same experience.

Tomeygun, pardon my ingnorance, but what are "Big ol' sticks"

Not to sound harsh, but the "need" for injectors is just not so, and will hurt more than help if you don't know what your doing. The 3rd Gen trucks don't work like the 1st and 2nd Gens did. Honed injectors and duration boxes don't mix here. Sure, they will make power, but very inefficiently. Even Don M is only going to offer a 40hp EDM injector for those running a duration box. You would do good to concentrate on AIR, AIR, and MORE AIR. Piers laid down a 535rwhp dyno run on his truck with his twins pushing just over 60lbs of boost and the TST on 7/7, that's it. I got a 215 rwhp increase out of the BullyDog Power Pup on the Extreme program on my little standard output 03 with the B1-04 huffing for all it was worth. Getting the fuel in there will not be the problem on stock injectors. The stock injectors will supply more fuel than you can likely supply the air to burn efficiently. Concentrate your funds on plenty of air....I mean lots of it, the right clutch, and some sort of pusher pump. Add gauges and the box(s) of choice, that's all you need. FWIW.

You know, those Injectors that people call "shower heads"
The kind that are honed out to the extreme (like DON's broken arrow's) 200hp+

I agree with AK.

TST + Pressure box + Twins = +300 HP over stock on the stock injectors.

Hey banshee, why Nitrous and not propane? I hadn't actually heard of too many setups using Nitrous and would be interested to hear about it.

Piers and Nathan have the same truck. 04.5, 600 engine.

Both had TST boxes. Piers ran a 516. Nathan ran a 554. Both on the same dyno and the same event. Both have twins.

The only difference was the injectors. Piers were stock. Nathan used EDM prototypes.

Now with pressure, Nathan runs right at 600 any day. The 04.5 is one hard truck to make power with.

big block,

Propane is pretty hard on the headgasket, and I 'm not a big fan of injecting a fuel into the airstream of a diesel (methanol and propane being most common). If setup right the nitrous is pretty safe and worry free. I only run a small jet to clean up what little smoke I have and to help respool the turbos after every shift. I put the kit together myself without investing a whole lot, and it performs like I wanted it to. The bottle in the back seat makes a nice converstation piece, too
