What aspects of the truck does the PCM control on a manuel tranny?

On a 12 valve: some gauges, cruise control, wait to start, water in fuel, A/C and most likely something I forgot.

Isn't the voltage regulator built into the PCM?

that is the function i lost when my pcm hit the poops....
