I asked my dealer about this and he said it was an in-house program they get from the factory.

A Factory Service Manual is your best bet.

FSM will not have parts diagrams or parts numbers- they are not designed for that- while you should have the fsm anyway, it is of little use for parts id'ing.
Prior to the computer system the dealers had paper parts catalogs- they still exist in the after market but can be hard to locate and will not necessarily have the most up to date part numbers. Mopar published paper up to 1998 I believe, after that an online dodge dealer is about it.

it's a common misconception- I know for a fact because that's what I do- sell them for a living.

Well, justme. On that note perhaps you can get me the part number for the vent cap for a G56 6 speed out of a 2006 2500. It is located right next to the shift tower. The local Dodge parts counter guy couldn't find a diagram showing it. If you can find it I would be very grateful.

Dodge dealers are the only ones with access to the centralized parts system for late model vehicles. Parts info for that transmission is only going to be available there or from Mercedes Benz. I would talk to a Mercedes Truck dealer parts department.

Standard now for all parts info to be centralized and electronic- faster updates to the dealers. Actually, Dodge is behind the times in service info- GM went paperless in 2001, Ford offers paper as a convenience to it's dealers but does not force them to buy- only Chrysler still relies on paper FSM's.

My mistake. When you said you sell them I was thinking parts, not FSMs.
