Pace Edwards gear report (so far, so bad)
Greetings all,
Thought I'd contribute a thread with my experience on a couple of Pace Edwards accessories.
I've had installed their tonneau cover ~> JackRabbit FullMetal w/Explorer rails & auto locking tailgate. I've experienced issues with both so far and have been unable to resolve them, or even obtain a return e-mail/call from their tech despite several attempts since 3/28/07.
Here's the first e-mail from 3/28:
I'm a little disappointed that I've not been able to get any return word from the company. I'm going to give another call tomorrow...
Regards,
Dane

Greetings Mr Brooks,
I am the recent owner of a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 MegaCab. I ordered (via realtrucks.com) and had installed the Pace Edwards FullMetal JackRabbit tonneau w/Explorer Rails (model numbers FM2022 & TE5033). The installation shop (contact info redacted here) was unable to make it fit correctly. The issue is the metal pieces at the roll-up box which would serve to raise the lip and allow the cover to retract normally. Due to the taper and size of the bed, these metal pieces do not make full contact with the rail and end up slipping off of the support. Attached are a couple close-up images of one side to illustrate.
I have had my truck back to the installation company twice, the second time after they contacted you and received replacement metal pieces (shims), which did not solve the fit problems. I am writing you in order to ask for your assistance in resolving this issue. I am willing to drive to your headquarters if necessary (I'm in Portland, so it's not too terribly far). I would really like to have this cover working as it should. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.
Kind regards,
Dane Bramage
ps. One addendum to the request above: I also purchased and installed the Pace Edwards locking tail gate. It stopped working a few days ago. I just returned from my installation company who were able to determine that there is a bad relay. Could you please advise where I could get a proper replacement? The one that is faulty is a "Beuller".

Just a thought Dane, but you might put your second contact in writing also but call first, get the name of the person you talk to and confirm the contact info for the person in the letter. There's always the possibility they aren't there anymore.

Written correspondence is best but painfully slow. I would say if they haven't responded by weeks end, it might be time for the dumb old country boy routine. Scuse me mam, but I got this here problem and I just don't know what to do. Is the owner/president of this here company around today?
