Pac-Brake

Talked to my dealer today and was informed that DC dropped Jacobs for Pac-Brake. Has anyone else heard the same? I know they are both good products. Dealer also said Pac-Brakes were guaranteed for 3yr/100,000 mi..

Bought my truck in Aug and had the dealer install the ex. brake. Apparently they were having issues getting the brakes from Jacobs (back order, malfunctions...I don't know). Anyway, a PAC Brake is what they installed in mine. I don't have the switch on the shifter though. They mounted it on the dash to the left of the steering column. Six of one, half-dozen of the other if you ask me.

Pac Brake

Can you get it for an Auto yet? Wouldn't you have to at least have a TC and VB upgrades to utilize the Pac Brake system? Can you lock it out or open I should say when you don't need the exhaust brake system for around town non-towing application?

Ditto!

Nothing like never hitting your brakes! I have to tap my brake just a few times to let others know I am slowing down.

Works GREAT against tailgators

They are available for auto's but you need something for tc lockup if you don't then you have to manually down shift get your rpm's up and you won't see all the benefit. Bd power makes a product called the towloc for controlling torque convertor lockup in exhaust brake applications mated together with their pneumatic ram to control line pressure the brake will really work I Drove a truck once that had a Exhaust brake on a auto without any kind of lock up device and it sucked it was test drive at a local dealer

I had one on my last truck...you're going to love it when you're towing your RV down a 7% grade!

Just keep the RPM's up a bit and they work awesome. The more your truck pushes the more backpressure (braking power) youll see.

Well, the throttle is different and some of the stuff with the injector pump is diffrent. and you have to put a manual switch on the throttle and a cruise controll relay on inside because the new ecm doesnt like the pacbrake in some cases, but not allways.

We have installed many of the Pac Brakes and they do work very well and the install is clean. Pac also has some options available such as the gear shifter switch, clutch pedal switch and supplemental air tank for extra capacity.
