I searched a little but didn't come up with anything. If you know of some links I'd be happy to read them if you link them.

Getting to my question, I have a chance to pick up a nice 24 valve truck (98 I think), however it was hit by lighting and needless to say alot of the electrical is fried. I have a an extra 7100 sitting and I was wondering if anyone had installed one in a 24 valve (or if it's even posible). Thanks for any help in advance. If I'm smoking crack and it's not possible just tell me.

yea it's possible alot of people have done it haisley machine sells a kit with all the injector lines and some of the other stuff to swap i think it ends up being around 1500 for all the parts

Thanks for the tip allisfarmer. I checked out there site. I also did a little more searching (used some differant wording)and came up with quite a few threads. I guess it's time to do my homework and start reading.

I always heard it was around 4-5k for the swap, if it is near 1500 I would really consider doing it myself. Do you have to change the Cam when doing this, or is there a way to add the pump drive without changing the Cam?

Kit from Schied's (and Haisely is probably the same now) is $1788. Then you need the pump and pump related parts, as well as adressing the fuel system. You still need the electronics to make the dash work, so if those are fried, you could have an engine that runs, but won't know what its doing. And if you're running an electric lift pump, then you might not even have a running engine. To change the timing case, you either need to pull the cam, or pull the cam gear.

Thanks for all the info. Turns out the insurance company wanted the truck more then I do. I'm going to pass on the truck.
