P0253 Fuel Inj Pump Fuel Valve Open Circ

What exactly does this mean? What does the Fuel Valve Open Circuit physicaly do? What is the purpose of this?

Means the injector pump is crapping out, usually the timing module.

Not something you normally want to see.
