P Codes

P Codes
The check engine light comes on periodically, occasionally the tach will drop to zero then start working again (no stumble). The following P Codes are in memory: P122; P1762; and P1693. What do the codes mean?

Re:P Codes
sounds exactly like a crankshaft position sensor gone bad...we do need to know about your truck though....year, trans and so forth...not sure if you have a 12 or 24 valve engine..

Re:P Codes
im not sure of your codes ( book is at home ) someone will chime in soon im sure...i see the p1693 code often around here though...the tach bouncing is a tell-tale sign of the crank sensor going bad (mine did same thing, didnt stumble, occasionally would surge at a light and shut-off)...quick fix, about $60 if this is it....

Re:P Codes
If I remember correctly... the voltage regulator for your DTT Transmission is set too high and needs to be adjusted down. This will cause a 1762 code.
Mine did not have the voltage regulator because the shop forgot : to install it. I went by and they threw it on and problem solved. If the voltage gets too high your tranny will go into limp mode and if it does that FOR GODS SAKE DON'T Throw it into low while moving Thats like instant brakes.
1693 is when your pcm or ecm has a code the other doesn't ??? I think it is when they disagree and yes it is a common code.
122 ??? TP Sensor Voltage Low I don't know the cause or what it is all about but my guess these codes are all related to one symptom... probably the tranny.
Experts please take over here as I am flopping out ;D
