Hey Don
Ive talked to some guys about this a while ago, i was told not to run more than 50psi at idle(40psi is probably safer), (60psi can blow seals in the pump) as far as more power from this, there is none, but it helps to raise the pressure (via the return valve spring mod). This helps with keeping from starving the pump of fuel when stomping the go pedal

building my own system (with a bypass reg and return) and didnt know what the pump wanted

thinking about setting it up so it only sees 20 at idle and rises proportional to boost

that would be 65 psi of fuel pressure when it maxes out at 45 psi boost

guess that will work fine

thanks

Sweet setup, just be careful..... you'll blow seals in the pump at 60psi my truck ran 45psi at idle and at full throttle it wouldn't drop below 25-30psi, i played with it a bit and never saw a difference in how it ran if the pressure was at 5psi WOT or 30psi WOT. Just as long as it had sufficient pressure it ran great.

Don't forget to watch the fuel pressure at the filter too. You can split the canister open easily.

thanks, i am not gonna be running the stock filter

napa 3352

its fregin huge

humm, does not say min burst anywheres on it

anyone know what they will take?

been thinking, can set reg up with 5 or 10 psi at idle, boost ref it, and it wont see 60 psi

just under, and that would only be at max boost

unless there is a filter issue thats what i am gonna do

thanks again

I think your filter will be fine, ive run my truck at 50psi cruising and never had an issue with leaks or blowing the filter, but ive never run it at 60psi so who nows...... that might be the lucky number the filters splits on

Why the boost reference? Its not a FI gasser. Just keep your pressure up at 25 or better.
