I was there but had a broken arm. I'll be there this year as well if the new track owners have it. Hopefully racing.[laugh] I've already discussed the new owners with John. Hopefully they will invite him back with the dyno as well.

i was there last year. i had a blast, didn't do any racing though as i had a sled pull later that night in stotts city. did jump on the dyno though it was fun and look forward to being there this year as well

It will prob be in June like in the past, but like said above, there are new owners, so......

Neal, Marty, and Mitch Chance of Neal Chance racing converters have purchased the place. They are calling it Ozark Raceway Park now and have a bunch of plans for the place. They are currently resurfacing the track out to the 1/8 mile mark and will be putting up better lighting in the pits along with other stuff . They usually have it in June to coincide with Brian Thompson's open house at BTS Transmissions in Arkansas. You can find a map at www.ozarkdragstrip.com. They were supposed to have the schedule done this week or early next week.

That track have been getting a little rough the last few years, I hope john gets to come down again this year.

Never been there, but interested in knowing what it is all about....

It's an all day pure diesel track day with a heads up quick 16 class and a bracket class and John Isaac brings his dyno down as well. Last year the track also scheduled a midnight drags after the diesel race so those not interested in going to a pull could continue to race until the wee hours of the morning.[coffee]

I've contacted them to see if they are still going to have the race and what their plans are. They like making a big production out of races it seems so it maybe improved this year. They are going to do an agressive ad campaign for the racetrack on both TV and radio and are trying to get the state to put a sign up on highway 60.

Glad to hear the place is getting a facelift, it was getting run down. Anyone heard a date for the event yet? I know a certain member on here that is getting married that day and may keep us from going... [verymad] [nonono]

The only thing I had to clean off after that trip to Pistol's was ticks. Poor truck was sagging from all the ticks it picked up. [laugh]

Does anyone know a date yet....I believe there is going to be a dyno/race/pullin day at st joe on june 13th...So they might not have them on the same day...which would be good for me so I would only miss 1 event...

It's on June 13th and will be followed by a midnight drags with a live remote from Q102 radio.

im planning on it. that will probably be the first time i go down the track in the big grren truck

I tried to save some money one time by trying a cryo output shaft left the line about around 22 pounds snap it broke, after it bounced of 4000 rpms I got pulled off the track no biggie right.... Went to load it on dads 24 foot trailer some one wasn't watching there ramp it kick up between the tire and bed, it hung up so bad we couldn't pull it off with holts truck. I can tell you a sick feeling is having to beat the side of your bed in with a 20 pound sledge.... Remember that Pack Mule???????

you better believe i remember that. you got your Edit handed to you by a 6speed megacab. that was a bad night. i still hear the 12lb hammer on that bedside. you took it better than i would have. someone would have had a broke nose and black eyes for not payin attention. it definately sucked. goes to show why you don't cut corners tryin to save a dollar. do it right, and you'll do it once. until next time when you break an intermediate, after you melt all the forward gears together. i'll stick to rowin the boat and breakin 6speeds.

It says 13th on the website but on their poster and pocket schedule it says the 20th. They were announcing it Friday night as being on the 20th.

i think coleman has the "inside" track... waiting on him to confirm... i probably won't be able to make it either way since i'm going on vacation the 19th

Its the 20th. And I just got John in touch with Mitch Chance yesterday on bringing the dyno down. John is headed to Texas today for a dyno event this weekend. Keep John's family in your prayers.

How was the day? I saw several diesels still running around Springfield last night.

I'd like to know some race results also. My VP throwed the old 1688 and P0253 codes on Friday and the truck is dead so I didn't go. I'm using a 4 wheeler to get down to the hayfield this week until John gets a VP overnighted to me.LOL Had a little over 100,000 miles on that one with stacked electronics.
