Overhead Pod/Gauge HELP
OOOOK, so I got 2/3 of my gauges today (Isspro pyro and fuel pressure if that matters), as well as my overhead triple gauge pod. Now, the gauges have 2 long threaded studs on the back of them which are tooooo long. When I try to put the gauge in the pod, the studs bottom out on the back of it before they seat nicely in the openings. Can anyone see why I can not cut like 1/2" or so off to make them fit? They look like they are just for mounting purposes, I don't see any problem, but wanted to ask around first.
Also, any pointers in regards to mounting the overhead pod? I see where it says to cut a metal piece to get the pod to sit flush, do I have to yank the entire head liner for this job? I know some have had bad experiences, but I am a stubborn , and want to try it anyway. My hope is to mount the pod tomorrow nite, and let it sit empty until Sunday, then do the full install. This way the adhesive has some time to sit and "cure".
TIA, any info MUCH appreciated.

Cut them as needed. The gauges are factory built, multi purpose to fit many
applications. They are mounting studs with threads to spare. Somebody somewhere in the world needs them right now........but not most folks...

Thanks for the reply, this is what I was figuring on, could not see why in God's name there needs to be like 1 1/5" of threaded rod hangin out back there.
BTW, if you run into somebody that needs all that threaded rod, shoot me a PM and I will Fedex it priority overnite to them after I hack it off
