overflow valve part number?

overflow valve part number?
Anybody have the part number for the overflow valve on vp-44 equipped trucks? I saw it once on a post in searching "overflow valve" but the reply with the bosch number didn't have the vehicle make in the signature. my truck is giving me a hard time when starting. The valve was a suggestion by a vendor who said that I may try this before dropping money on the injection pump. Truck starts fine in the morning, but if I shut it off for a period of about 15 mins. or longer it doesn't want to start until the truck sits for a couple of hours. Might be a long shot, but I'm willing to try it out. Local *********** wanted $169 for the valve. Got a quote from Bosch for about $30 shipped. But need correct part number. TIA

Yes fuel pressure does go up when I turn the key on. My pressure after the installation of the Vulcan kit are 13 idle, can't pull below 10 WOT. But the truck is starting to have serious problems when starting. Usually starts fine in the morning. For the last two days though it hasn't wanted to start at all. This morning it started ran for about 10-15 seconds, and then died. I had to crank it over probably 4 different times (about 10 seconds per time) before it fired. Once running it runs fine, but after driving for about an hour it is starting to develop a surge at highway speeds. I'm thinking that my injection pump is about to make its departure. Trying to decide whether or not I should cough up the extra for a hot rod pump.

I would tend to agree with you about the inj. pump. I replaced one at 98000 miles, warrenty but the next one will come out of my pocket,be nice to know for sure if its the electronics thats mounted on the pump is getting too hot or is there something in the pump itself that gives trouble, back when the 6.5 GMs came out,pump had the electronic module mounted on the inj. pump.(just like the cummins now) and they had no end of trouble till people started to mount the module on the fender or on a heat sink,that took care of the problem.

Yes it would be nice to totally eliminate the freakin problem. I guess that I should be counting my blessings, I bought the truck with 138,000 miles on it. It's now sitting at 215,000 with the original pump still in the truck. I've put two lift pumps on it, and the comp has been tapped since
about 180,000 miles. I haven't ran any fuel treatment through the truck regularly, believe it or not. Right now it's sitting out in the office parking lot, doing all it can to not start on me after sitting since 8:00 am. I guess I'll call the wrecker and it'll head down to Jim Jessup for a injection pump. **** dodge you gotta love it. But then sometimes I wanna trade it off for a new one. It is good though not having a truck payment. This allows more funds for toys!!!!!

Thanks Mini, called Jessup and he is going to replace the pump tomorrow afternoon. Called him this morning and truck will be towed to his house tonight. He told me that I could pick it up tomorrow evening after work. Should take him about 45 mins. to change! I've talked to alot of vendors about pump prices, and probably 95% said that they haven't seen an overflow valve go bad on a 24 valve. That the problem is common on 12 valves. So now I've just got to go home and tell the wife that I'm spending the money. I also hear that Jim is the man when it comes to tuning these beasts. Talked to him about that also. So this could be another expensive trip to the shop. It seems to never end.

Heard from Jessup here a few minutes ago, he had to push the truck into his shop. Also had plenty of issues getting it to start and then proceeded to drive the truck in which it threw overboost & map sensor codes. Shut truck down and it wouldn't start back up. Proceeded to take comp box off of truck, restarted the truck it proceeded to start up repeatedly and did not throw any additional codes. So at this time I have no codes present and he is leaning towards my comp box is the problem. This is the 4th truck that I believe he has seen with the same symptoms in the last two weeks I think. So he claims that my injection pump is fine, and working as it should. I'm happy not to be spending the extra money on the pump. Now I may have to think about replacing the comp box with a TST box, or the SMARTY.
