Overdrive Button
Had a thought the other day.
Is there a way to wire the overdrive button to keep the overdrive off at all times?
So when you shut the key off the overdrive button does not have to be pushed again on startup?
So when you start the truck, the overdrive is off instead of on?

I've seen a rewire kit somewhere that does exactly what you want. I'm at work and can't surf too long to find it. Maybe somebody else knows or I'll look this weekend.

It's not as simple as just switching some wires around but not too hard. The od off button is a momentary on switch, it just sends a pulse that toggles the od from off to on with each pulse. What some guys do is wire a relay in parallel to the od switch that is only triggered on when the the starter motor is engaged. Essentially the relay pushes the button for you, if it takes two tries to start your truck (not likely) od will be on.

That sounds like it would work just fine. I imagine that's what the rewire kit I saw does. Buying a relay and wiring it yourself would probably be 1/4 the price.

I figured that the rewire kit was something like that.
I have relays and will probably just wire it in myself.
Cost, just time.
Thanks for the replies
