I've had several kinds, but the ProComp Xtreme i have now are the best wearing tires I've ever had on a diesel truck. 45,000 so far and at least 10,000 left and i don't baby them! Load range E.

I have seen X-terrain's on a lifted truck and I like them he also abuses the crap out of them... So I can they are a good choice too!!! I just don't have any personal experience with them!!

We are hard on tires
BFG AT's get my vote, I have had three sets over the years and average 40k miles (lots of towing and lots of gravel roads). I rotate about 3 times on a set. I tried one set of Nitto Terra Grapplers, they were gone in 25k, they were the best riding and driving tires I have had. My Dad has been through 8 full sets (two sets of factory michelins, two sets of pathfinders, two sets of geolander a/t's, and one set of geolander h/t-s and now geolander a/t-s) on his 2002 with 225k on it (50% gravel roads) and the yokohama Geolander A/T-S have been the best ones yet over 20k on them and just now showing wear. Most of his tires were getting bad by 20k. I had horrible luck with Goodyear 8-10 yrs ago, don't know about them now (can't be any worse).

The better quistion for me is where are they made. I love my Pro Comps but I bought them in a hurry and didnt get to research American tire companies. I have now and Cooper or Mickey Thompson (owned by cooper) are the only true American companies left.
That will be my next tire.
For what its worth most of the Goodyears are still made hear and Goodyear is mostly owned American.
Pro Comp not so much.

I've had Nitto terra grapplers and they only lasted 25k, they look good but thats it. I ended up getting a parshal refund on those tires. I have 1k on my TOYO ats now ,hopefully these last longer.

On 4x4 3/4 or 1 ton trucks, Toyo ATs are the best for wear. I've had 3 sets of BFGs, Nittos, and ProComps. I wouldn't say Toyos are the best for traction though.
