Over Drive Issues???
New to the Automatic behind a Cummins and have a few questions about mine. The truck is a 2001 and the trany seems to be find other than 2 things with OD and am not sure if they are all like this or not.
When it shifts into OD it feels like it clunks (only auto's I have ever driven have been GMs and they were all smooth) so it might just be the nature of the beast...not sure.
The other thing I have noticed is that if I have the truck running on the high way at say 60 with the CC on and touch the break and slow down and then hit resume it will down shift to 3rd and will stay it on level ground for ever and will only jump up to OD if I start going down a hill or if I touch the break and use the skiny pedal manually. Once in OD with the CC on its fine and down shifts okay....just doesn't want to go back into OD.
Anyone have any idea's? Like I say Im new to this Auto stuff and need a little help.
Thanks in advance..RyanB

Fluid is fine. It shifts into OD in light throttle but when giving it hard it doesn't want to sift in...let off the go pedal for a sec and in it goes.
