output speed sensor P-0720

I am getting code P-0720 , output speed sensor . Where exactly is it and can cleaning it solve the malfunction


I did a search and found its located on the OD unit of the rearof the trans, left side. Is that correct?

Any tips?

yes, it's located on the left side of tranny, where begins the OD unit. It's plastic and tan in colour. It's pretty simple to replace, be quick! unscrew the old and screw in the new one. a bit of oil coming out..
you can try to clean it, it has a magnet that collect metal soot..but for the price I raccomend you replace it!

Speed sensor $18.55 at local auto supply. Located it on left rear of trans. 1" socket , Slap the new one in before to much oil comes out.

Seems fixed, One test drive , no more late shift, or check engine light
