Out of park recall...my dealers comments

I forgot to mention about when I was at the dealer about the belt chirp TSB they started talking about how this vehicle needs the out of park recall reflash done...one of them asks which vehicle..the service person says this truck that's in for the fanbelt noise...so I speak up and say..are you referring to my truck...yes it has a safety recall that we have to perform. Well with all I've read on this forum about what an aggrivation is was for people I told them "No Thanks" and they answered "it's manditory sir"!! I was just totally taken by surprise to hear them say that. But I stood my ground and said no way do I want that done top my truck. We have to do it sir they claim and I say oh no you do not have to and I will not permit it. They ask me why not and I respond with a comment about how many owners are trying to get it undone because it's such a complete nuisance for them. Then there's silence for a few and the service manager finally tells his assistant to make sure they write in a comment that customer was very insistant about not having the recall performed on his vehicle...if I had not spoken up I believe they would have done it without any hesistation....chalk one up for this ole guy!

It's TSB 09-004-06 and the dealer was able to pull it up so maybe your source is not up to date.

When my wife took the truck in for u joint replaced under waranty this week, she told the dealer I didn't want that recall done and they just had her sign a form. The service writer regretted getting it done to his truck.
