So we now get to beef up the trans a little bit, so with that, we were thinking about throwing some mild injectors in to acompany the EZ.

Now should we go with edge stage 1-3 nozzles or try some rv275's?

Whoes got exp. on the stock truck with mild injectors?

Smoke?

I had to run my truck stock for about 3 weeks with the jammers stage 5 in my truck and it would blow some smoke and it felt much stronger than stock of course. The only thing i noticed is fuel pressure wanted to get low with just injectors i would make sure there is some kind of fuel system on there to help out before you put injectors in there. JMO.

iker,,the ez with 275`s runs pretty good,probably be the best your gonna do on fuel mileage as well.......that said,id go with some injectors in the 80 hp range though as a minimum(as long as you have some tranny mods already)...mileage probably 1.5 off the 275`s,but much better power.i really like 100 hp sticks,but mileage goes away,and smoke gets worse on humid days........for edge sticks,id call city diesel in decatur alabama,they pop test and match all sets,as you probably have read the jammers have a tendency to come a little unmatched..........bama

Are 275's better quality then jammers.. i don't know why i'm asking just looked them up and where a little bit more then jammer 1's about the same price as jammer 2's... are 275's still 7 hole vs. jammers which are 8.. is that why jammers smoke more and tend to run hotter.. just wondering i'm a rookie at the injector thing??

I'd choose the 275s over Jammers if for nothing else that they are made by Bosch to certified OEM standards, while Jammers are imported.

I'd choose the 275s every time under 50hp.

Don't get wrapped up in hole count-- there are some very clean 6-hole injectors and slobbery 8 hole ones.

I'd go with 275s and a Quad XZT+ or Smarty. Awesome, clean combo with low EGT and good safety and mpg.

The Mach 1s are much more expensive, but they are incredibly clean and about 20hp more than the 275s.

Got mine from Source Automotive (Rip Rook) He has a great reputation and you know youre getting genuine Bosch ones not possible knock-offs from ebay (which i have heard are out there) Good price - Excellent seller. I am not affiliated with him just giving a known good source to consider.

I actually went down to 275's from a larger set to see what kind of fuel mileage increase I would see. It wasnt much of an increase actually but they run smoother and the truck is more fun to drive now although it doesnt have that "brute" torque feeling it had before.

As an afterthought, and after speaking with Rip and a few others, the Mach 1 as in 1.0 would probably have netted slightly better mileage and I would have had about 20-30 more HP than the 275s as well..

I really like the 275's and for the price they are a great value, but Mach 1's are what Im wishing I had now.. Something else to consider.. They will give you an honest 65 HP increase at the wheels and dont overfuel your truck and require alot of other items to support them.

I installed a set of Mach 1.0s in a friend's truck, and they are an absolutely incredible injector. Really clean even in summer air at 6000 feet!

OMG Hohn, thats killin me!! lol Yeah.. almost bought a set of those and said.... hmmmm 300 bucks vs 600.. But the real reason was because the 275's have this long history of being a good fuel mileage injector so went with those to get a baseline of what the truck will do first.. Now I know.. Not a whole lot better then the ol DD3's actually.. Think Im gonna have to spring for some 1's and call it good.

But see there's the other strategy thats kinda keeping me thinking.. Hows about running just some 1.6's and NO electronics?? Would that be simple & sweet or what..

I was floored by the 1.0s. Gary reported back to me that he got between 23 and 21mpg with them hand calc'd on a road trip from WY to SD and back.

His truck with just an EZ and M1s felt as strong SOP as mine with EZ and DD2s, but was much cleaner. You wouldn't believe the difference in smoke, and hot weather in 6000ft elevation is a brutal smoke test.

i think for now i will get the 275s from a member here, then mach 1's in the future

Just ordered a set of Mach 1s. Will report back on the differences between them and the 275s when known. Thanks for the input. From speaking with a couple people, the M1s can actually net better mileage than the 275s because they are so efficient burning.

We will see.. : )

My M6's net 23mpg on the hiway. 20-20.5 towing my sled at 70mph!
