Original VP44 or not--- how to tell?

Is there any way to tell if my VP44 is the original or not? I've got 166k on my truck...I'm looking to up the power a bit more with a box but I'd guess that I'd kill it pretty quick by tapping the wire (if it's the original pump, that is). Any thoughts?

it should say "reman" or something like that on it. you could probably run your vin # to a chrysler dealer to check if they did any warranty work on it.
