I stopped by my dealer today to see if he was able to get the order in with the Protection Group and he told he that they got it in thru the Dial system. He said it was some back door system that dealers have access to for special orders. I then asked for a VON and was told that it wouldn't be available till Monday because it went in via Dial. Anyone know what this Dial system is and how it works? BTW he said he checked with the district Dodge rep and was told that the Tow hooks were the reason that the Protection group was on hold, but that it would not be that long of a wait. I was told that my order should arrive by the end of October as that was what the district rep thought.

The Dial system is the old way (before the internet based system) of dealing with Chrysler,Ie. ordering & checking new vehicle status,and parts and service procedures. I personally feel just because he didn't get a denial on the protection package,it's a fluke in the "old" system...Sorry if I'm correct.

Do you know if my dealer was being upfront with me when he said he wouldn't have my VON till Monday or does the Dial system give a VON when the order is places as the internet based system?

Just fyi crab, my order went in with the protection group through the computer system. The computer system didn't put the hold on, DC did.

On the internet based system, there is currently a hold on the Protection group and the Off Road Package because the Protection group is part of it. The dealerconnect.com site got updated with the changes when the new prices went into place on Labor day.

Now being that it is just stamped metal that makes up the parts for the protection group, I can't imagine it taking more then a couple weeks for new parts to arrive. Also it's just not the tow points I'm looking for with the protection group. I want the fuel tank skid plate because the fuel tank itself is plastic. I'd rather have something around a plastic tank incase anything gets kicked up off the road.

Crab, they will be available for bolt on later...if you want to wait for some unknown time for the parts to come in, thats of course your perrogative With the massive influx of orders though, I hope you are willing to risk getting an EGR engine for your precious skid plate protection ;D

jmho, but this Dial system sound like it is is just removed enough from the real ordering system that it doesn't know about any production restrictions. So it would accept an order and just take longer to find out the bad news...

Just spoke with the dealer about getting my VON. He tells me he still doesn't have it. He said The order was entered thru DIAL but it doesn't go anywhere because the Protection group is on Hold. The trick to this is to have the District rep push it thru which hasn't happened yet. He was expecting it to be done today but now says tomorrow and at the latest, Wednesday. BTW, the part they are missing from the protection group are the tow hooks.

I really like the new tow hooks, BTW. better than the 02 hooks and better than the new ford hooks.
