options for combo digital gauge on early second gen?

Im trying to find a single LCD combo gauge cluster for this truck but it seems all the good stuff is made to be hooked into the data bus on the ECMs in newer trucks rather than to individual senders. They also tend to incorporate electronic fueling mods that I dont need.
the Ive looked around and it seems like the only thing out there thats close to what im looking for is the quadzilla recon.
Anyone have any ideas on where else to look?
Could I just buy one of these newer setups and run it without connecting to the ECM?
Im looking for boost, EGT, trans temp and fuel pressure to replace my analog gauges. Would be nice to have a watchdog function for these values like the recon has. I just need a larger display that can show more than one parameter at a time.

Kawi,

You don't not have an ECM per say. Your PCM controls the grid heaters, alternator charging, O/D and T/C lockup at speed.

There is no electronic "box" to control your fuel. Also, your "95 is using older technology (OBD I) electronics instead of the newer OBD II. Doesn't mean a thing to a 12V with mechanical injection.

This does not mean there is not an electronic set of gauges for your truck. It does mean that you will have to run sending units for boost, EGT, trans temp and fuel pressure.

I hope that helps.

You can also buy the Quadzilla commander as a stand alone unit.

I don't think you can get the commander any more.. The scout is the new unit, not sure if its any good.
Anyway..
I put a commander in my 97. Basically paid way too much for a screen that does next to nothing. You will be able to use the pyro, trans temp and coolant temp out of the box how ever fuel pressure and boost will cost you extra. It seems quad has the fuel pressure situation some what figured out, I will be sending my commander in for the update and new sender next month as I have some towing to do in the coming weeks. I had 2 senders fail, one commander fail and now have some issues with my exisiting one, however I still would not trade it for a set of gauges. I think they take longer to read than just glancing up at a screen.

Back to boost, I have plans to retro fit a MAP sensor from a 3rd gen Dodge into my truck. I've been told they will read a wider scale of boost numbers and most importantly it is one of the trucks optioned in the commanders menu. That way I know the unit will give accurate numbers based on input/output voltage, the commander knows what to make of it. Rock auto sells the MAP sender for $80-90. I got the harness pigtail from quad about a year back but still need to figure out the pin out. They were supposed to make an analog to digital sender for the guys making big boost numbers (outside the range of a CR MAP sender) but last I heard its no longer going to happen.
Good luck, wish the 12 valves had some better options.

I purchased quite a few gauges from http://www.summitracing.com/
I suggest use the mechanical fuel pressure not the electric.

Hmmm, so my options are either a stand-alone commander (with the addon for fuel pressure) or the recon.
It does sound like it will be a PITA to get the commander working but I like the idea it displays those parameters and displays a warning when you exceed one.
Of course I could just tack the recon onto what I already have and use that for the warning only.
Hmmm...

I have the commander and it works great on the pillar mount w/boost, tranny, engine and egt readings. I also have mech fuel psi gauge and warning light. I'm thinking of selling the commander and going a different route, let me know if you're interested.

I have the boost option, I guess on my commander. I thought that was standard (as it's only a MAP plug). I like the alerts feature and the defueling feature if any parameters are exceeded. Nice to have your own personal numbers plugged in for alerts and defueling. I use the boost, trans temp, fuel pressure, and pyro for daily monitoring. Don't know much about the Scout, but it costs about the same as the commander did ($400 plus the FP kit).

SPA Gauges...
Only problem is their combo gauge is like 300$ versus 200ish for a used commander. I came across SPA before, theyre nice gauges but spendy =(

Yes they are, but they come with their own sensors, not running off the MAP like the Commander does (IIRC).
