Opinions on upgrades...

I am looking in the new year to do some upgrades. I am looking to make big power on a single and still keep every day driveability and mild towing manners (5-8K lbs)

My thoughts are as follows....feel free to add or change as needed. However I need to stay as a single charger and single Cp3 to keep in the street class at my local G2g.

Turbo looks like a Sledpuller 66 or a equivelant 66/71/14

Injectors look like flux 3.3, or 3.4's

Stage 3 Cp3 from either place.

I want awesome street power with OK towing manners and all out power at the track. I might squeeze if need be at the track.

Water is a option for towing if need be.

Thanks.

I dont want to pull anything off to work on it. So most of the mods must be bolt on.

Porting the head is almost a waste of time. Jorge in flordias truck put down more power on stock head then a ported head. A cam not really that important. Studs, fuel, springs and let her rip

So what would be the best single to run Flux 3's and still tow decent???

I would be looking at a 66/71-16ss, I think you would have the fuel to spool it. And you seem to want a 66 wheel. Towing well you're gonna have to keep the rpms up or run a little pressure even for 5-8k, but I think you can manage with it. It can always be downgraded if necessary.

I seem to want a 66 cause I think it fits best...but if you have other ideas then throw them at me. I am all ears...(just needs to be a single)

That's what I was thinking, you could do a 64/71-16ss and it will tow better and spool better.

That's what I don't know, it probably would do good daily driving and towing, but I don't know if it would get toasty at the end of a hard run. madhat, you got you one of these, how does it do?

I don't know about 3.3's, but it does good with my 2.5's. I can see some toasty temps if I'm not careful, but as long as I pay attention, I do not have any problems. With everything turned up going down the track, I see 1500 right near the end.

Les 66/71/16ss will do you perfect. You can add water meth when towing to help spool and keep cool (also a benefit at the track) and an mp-8 to keep pressure up. I would then go with the flux 2.5 set, great street manners and the capability to deliever good power. As for a pump, anybodies stage 3, they all seem to have the same capabilities just priced different, just look for the best $$$deal. I am a fan of the super b special, but in your case a 66 probably fits your needs better. I have a good special in the garage, so if you want to dyno with it, its all yours at the next LCD dyno day. Only other thing I can think of that will help with what you want is a after market inter cooler and going to some diffent gears to help spool that bad boy turbo you want. SEE YA SOON
