only getting one new injector from dodge...
Well after four visits to two different dealers and two weeks without the truck all i'm getting is one new injector.....Its a long story but the truck was way down on power, fuel milage was down from 18-19 to 14 hand calc nothing else changed. Then there was the loud whistling from the rail and engine cutting out with an P0251 code. MY theory was leaking rail releif valve and injectors returning too much fuel with possible sticky FCA throwing the code. First dealer put in a new CP3 because of the code (under warranty), which was great except it didn't solve any of the problems. Second dealer put in another Cp3 and lift pump (even though my LP fuel gauge was a steady 10psi like it always has been). And of course that didn't fix the problem. So dodge engineers get involved and ask if they checked the injectors yet (which is what i told them the problem was $7,000 in pumps earlier) and what do you know they find the relief valve was leaking! Repalced it to find injectors are also returning too much fuel. They capped em off and told me they found one that was gushing return fuel and that they will replace it but only that one...because they spent so much $$ replacing perfectly fine lift pump and injection pump.
From what i understand about these injectors the 05's came with a softer non-stainless injector body that was particularly susceptible to erosion of the ball seats causing excess fuel return leakage. Even though I find it reasonable that one injector was obviously gushing too much return fuel I don't see how the others are all perfectly fine when they receive the same quality fuel. I've had a 2mic filter with a baldwin in the factory basket since 45k miles but apparently that is not enough. I just don't want to have to deal with this problem 5 more times as the remaining injectors die 1x1. Give me 6 of the new stainless ones and that should get me past my 100k warranty and out of dodge's hair! ok rant over....

You have to play the game. They (Chrysler, not my dealer) did me the same way. Well my problems got a little better after they replaced 1 injector, but they soon returned. I got a different tech this time around and he new how to play the game. He "diagnosed" it in such a way that the fix was to replace all 6 injectors with the latest version and that is what he did. NO problems since and great mileage......
