Dad had a 26 foot RV and a tree fell through it and now its gutted and just the floor and plumbing is on it. My question is will the frame be strong enough to hold a tractor if i strip it and make it into a gooseneck?

Need way more info. What kind of trailer and what kind of tractor. What kind of frame is it, boxed, C channel, I beam, thickness.

Well the 5th wheel part it boxed but not sure about the under side. It was a 1999 5th wheel caint remeber the model. The tractor is an older model Zetor just used for shredding. If the tractor is a no go i was going to make it into a trailer that had a three hole dog box on it and could carry my 4wheeler, 8dozen decoys, and other unting equipment. Surely it would be able to carry this much weight.

Look at the GVWR for the trailer. Weigh the trailer now, and that should answer your question.

I have looked into this alot and most trailer from mid 90's on are not strong enough they used 1/8 tube or angle to build the main frame since it was sort of a unibody construction

the older 80 and early 90 used 1/4" wall 2x6 tube which is strong enough.

best bet it to look at frame and see what it is. if 1/8" no way.. woul need a lot of steel added to it to make it strong enough.. if 1/4" wall shoul dnot be a problem

Check the axle weight rating and compare that to the weight of the tractor as a starting point.
