Ok, How do I know if...

...my truck is the SO or an HO truck. I`m pretty sure the HO`s were manual tranny`s. Someone correct me if I`m wrong.

Once the 48RE came out, HO's came with auto trannies as well as 6 speeds.
(I think?)

There should be a data plate on the front of the engine that will tell you the HP/Torque.

You might be able to tell from the VIN, if you can find a 3rd gen VIN decoder.

Look on the driver's side of the valve cover. There is a white sticker with the advertised hp and torque. If it is a HO it will say 305 HP and 555 TQ.

I was thinking they were all HO`s in 04, but wasn`t sure. Build date on mine is 12/03, so I`m gonna check the spec sticker on the valve cover to be sure.

Thanks

I think you've got one of the last 305/555's or SO's, which were something like 250/460. What's the 8th digit of your vin? C=HO, 6=SO.

Did you look on the valve cover to see if you have 305 or 325 hp?
