I have a 04 cummins and I am looking for a place on the block to get oil pressure from for a bypass filter I don't want to take it from the filter housing as others are doing as this takes away from the turbo oiling I have seen 2 other engines with turbo failure do to lack of oil

If you put on the correct kit you will not have an issue pulling from the oil filter housing. You can't just us any kit on a CR. It will drop the pressure too much.

well I have a friend that has amsol and it didn't work and cummins doesn't reccomend it either

Did he have the dual filter or single filter set up? I have put 50k on my single filter head with no problems.

Same here.. no problems... stay away from the remote filter setups. I'm talking about the ones that move your stock filter.

Right, use the port on the filter head.I have over 400,000 miles and no problems(except our EPA)

I have ran the dual amsoil on my 2004.5 since 10k and now have 131k on the truck. Installed the dual under the bed on passenger side. Has been great to service and have not had any trouble.

Because those who have tried using the remote mounts have had serious oil pressure problems. Seems to me that the oil filtration system is very reliable so why would you risk moving it and taking a chance at destroying your engine?

I used the port on the stock filter housing with my Amsoil bypass, have had NO problems with oil pressure or turbo lubrication.

I haven't looked real close on mine, but is there a hole already tapped and plugged on our trucks? I am assuming it is close to the stock filter mounting flange?
