Oil pressure warning light...or lights?

Does anyone know if there is such a thing?

I would like to have one or two warning lights...one for low pressure...say 30 psi ( I don't know what values yet...that is another part of this discussion) and a high warning light at 60 psi in the cab. I have too many gauges allready...and would only like to have a "test gauge" under the hood...but lights in the cab.

Any ideas?

This one has a light WAY to big...but I guess I could find another lamp?

Does anyone know where to source some more resonable sized ones?

There are senders only for 15, 30, and 50 psi...i guess I should look first and post later...duh.

What are the "normal" oil pressure ranges for these trucks?

Christian, that autometer is the one I have mounted on my dash. Funny thing is there is no 15psi sender. It's an 18psi one and that's the lowest Autometer has. Works great. It saves me from constantly glancing at my oil pressure guage. It's always nice to see it working. When I turn my key on, the light goes on, so I know it's working. Then it shuts off a few seconds after I start when pressure has risen. Cheap insurance for my engine and for my driving skills...

Well I've never tripped the low pressure and my Autometer electric oil pressure guage at it's lowest shows around 20psi. This is with ChevDelo15w40 and 90degree temps. So it never hit 18psi on the low end. On the high end I've tickled 75psi when oil is cold in cold weather. It may be a touch higher, like 80psi. Once warmed up I see anywhere from 50 to maybe 65psi on the highway depending on speed. I usually drive 55 when I have to and 75 when I can. Hope this helps.

Where did that info come from?

I though low idle was 30ish and high was around 50 psi?

hmmmmm....

The OEM gauge is worthless.

I think the numbers he quoted may be the LOWEST allowable pressures. I've never gone below 20psi or so. And I always see higher than 30psi at 2500rpms. Heck I'm at 30psi as soon as I touch the throttle.

those are the specs for testing oil pressure right out of the book.....
I was told the gauge does not show true psi as far as the number goes???
