oil pan gasket
There is oil on the pan ,not alot but its there. Have fixed the kdp and I checked the front cover, every thing is dry above the pan. Can the pan gasket leak? The bolts are tight. Can the pan gasket be replaced without pulling the engine? Thks

I changed the pan gasket on my 94 standard regular cab by lifting the motor up. You must lift it up quite high to get the pan out. I remember removing a couple of inter cooler hoses, taking off the #6 valve cover, partly removing the fan and loosining the engine mounts. I had a good sized engine lift and ended up jacking the engine up about as far as it would go to to get the pan out.
I used grey RVT on both sides of the gasket.
It took me 8 hours, lots of time was spent rolling around on my cold garage floor. I was wearing a winter jacket as it was -15*c at the time.
Turns out the leak was actualy from the rear main seal.
